Pro-Active IT Solutions are database application developers
specialising in MS Visual Basic, MS SQL Server and MS Access.
Background
The company was formed from the IT services division of Progress
Group plc. The parent company’s core activity is spare parts
distribution. Having spent several years searching for a suitable
Windows tm based solution for its distribution operation, the
company concluded that a package sufficiently sophisticated yet
affordable was unavailable for the SME market.
The solution therefore lay in developing in house solutions tailored
to the needs of the company.
A team of developers was formed to work closely with systems
managers. Numerous applications have been, and are being developed,
to meet the requirements of the Group companies.
Realising that Progress Group could not be alone in encountering
such challenges, it was decided that, any of the solutions provided
must be designed in such a way as to allow third parties to take
advantage of the software.
To this end all applications are written based on n-tier
architecture and implemented using COM+.
Purpose

enterprise level application.
